Since the dawn of time, many weebs have gone to war defending their waifu. For the uninitiated, “waifu” refers to the most beautiful, badass girl anime and manga have to offer. We all have our favorites– or multiple favorites for that matter. Today, all the bickering and whinging finally comes to an end.

THESE are the 10 best waifu of all time. 

NOTE: Before we receive tons of angry emails and calls to shut down our site, we’re joking. These are just some of our favorite female anime and manga characters. Also, this list is completely random.

10) Hinata Hyuga

Let’s kick this list off with one of the sweetest ninjas in the Naruto universe: Hinata Hyuga. She serves as an inspiration for Naruto and the audience alike. As the daughter of the Hyuga Clan’s leader, she has a lot to live up to. But unlike her cousin Neji, she isn’t a genius ninja nor super powerful. But where she shines is the amount of heart she has– even facing death to defend Naruto from the monstrous Pain when he comes to destroy the Konoha Village. By the end of the series, she completely believes in her power and goes on to marry the 7th Hokage. 

9) Birdy Cephon Altera

After crash landing on Earth, while chasing down alien criminals, Birdy accidentally kills a high school boy named Tsutomu. In an effort to save him, she merges with Tsutomu and the two share the same body. We have to say, we’re extremely jealous of Tsutomu because who wouldn’t want a beautiful, alien girl to inhabit our body and mind? Plus, she’s a badass supersoldier who can protect us from anyone who’d try to harm us.

8) Mikasa Ackerman

Attack on Titan’s Mikasa grew up with the main characters Eren and Armin. And she has all the skill to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the show– save for maybe Levi, who’s an Ackerman too. Mikasa makes one of the best waifu because she is caring, loyal, and loving. And while she’s also extremely pretty, she’s also equally dangerous. We don’t want to spoil anything but manga readers know she has a truly tragic ending. We just hope she goes on to find someone that will truly appreciate everything she has to offer.

7) Shinobu Kochou

We love everything about Shinobu Kochou. Her bubbly personality oozes out every scene she’s in. However, just because she’s sweet and has a captivating smile, that doesn’t mean this honey bee won’t sting you. She’s one of the most skilled fighters in Demon Slayer. Although she doesn’t have raw strength like some of the other characters, her deadly poisons will quickly take down any enemy she comes across. And she has a bit of a mean, sadistic side that you just have to love. If you make her your waifu, make sure you treat her right because she will surely destroy you if you make her mad!

6) General Esdeath

She’s as cold as ice, but General Esdeath sure warms our hearts when we see her in Akame Ga Kill. In this dog-eat-dog world, she’s made a name for herself as one of the most formidable opponents our protagonists have to face. Despite her firm demeanor, we see there’s a softer side to Esdeath. She even fell in love with Tatsumi before knowing he was on the enemy’s side. Regardless of her ruthlessness in the series, we see her as one of our favorite waifu who’s worthy of the worship she receives.

5) Orihime Inoue

What’s better than a waifu that can heal you from all your wounds, make sure you’re eating properly, and has huge…um… personality? Nothing we say! That’s why Orihime Inoue from Bleach makes our list of the top waifu. And with Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War finally starting, we’re happy to see one of our favorite girls back on the screen. Sure, it was a rough start and many people found her a bit annoying during the first arc. But by the time we got the Arrancars, we knew Orihime was waifu material. The only lady from Bleach that could give her a run for her money would be either Yoruichi or Nel.

4) Misa Amane

Sexy, bubbly, and willing to kill for the man she loves gives Death Note’s Misa Amane a spot on this list. She’s even surprised us by showing intelligence and cunning on the same level as Light. It’s a shame he took advantage of her to make his plans come true, only for him to end up dying anyway. If you ask us, she was based heavily on Harley Quinn, who would make the waifu list too if we weren’t sticking strictly to anime girls this time around. 3) Nico Robin

Honestly, One Piece is filled with waifu material but we landed on Nico Robin for this list. She goes from quaint and timid to fierce and mean, and there’s just something so attractive about not knowing what you’re going to get on any given day. Plus, she has all those hands which could be used to cook and give you a massage at the same time. And she’s always ready for a fight so you never have to worry about anyone.

2) Sango

Inuyasha is another anime where it’s hard to choose the best waifu, but we’re going to give it to the demon slayer, Sango. We know she values family, she can fight, and she can whine down to relax and have a good time. And she knows everything about every demon and poison, so you’re always prepared– if you live in a world filled with demons.

1) Bulma Brief

Of course, any list involving anime has to have someone from Dragon Ball. It was a toss-up between Bulma and Android 18. We’re giving it to Bulma: why? Well, she’s insanely brilliant and rich. And she shows a level of loyalty to the Prince that we all want in our personal lives. Plus, that blue hair is beautiful. AND she built the dragon radar so we could find the Dragon Balls to make any of our wishes come true!
